We are an Agency of the Council of Atlantic Premiers responsible for governing, regulating and supervising harness racing in all its forms relevant and related to pari-mutuel betting in the Maritime Provinces.

The Maritime Commission replaced the three Provincial Commissions in 1994.

Our office is located in Kensington, Prince Edward Island.

Changes to MPHRC Rules

At its meeting on Thursday April 1, 2010 the Board of the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission approved changes to the Rules of Racing. The Commission would like to thank all of those who took the time to submit suggestions for rule changes and to those who served as members of the Industry Rule amendment Working Group. Folowing are the changes which come into effect immediately.
